I’ve been forgetting to update the blog for such a long time now. Yet I’m finding it easier on a daily bases to use twitter to blog or chat with clients online. Wow social media is great.
I’ve been thinking lately that I will start doing a short audio cast (podcast). Inspired by the comedian Richard Herring and his Warming Up series. It might be ideal to start the production day with a short recording to audio about what we are doing on a day to day bases.

I’m hoping this will be a fun idea, stay turned.

HI all
‘Hot’ from the edit suite is our latest production, in which we worked with Talking Birds. For us, Mindriot provided a small crew and post production services for a two day shoot and edit. The film was written and directed By Nick Walker of talking Birds.

So what’s the film about? Who is it for? Well...
Its a short film which will be seen in classrooms. Something different, and a little bit of role play for the kids and their English lessons. The students watch the film and as the ‘Editor’ instructs them to write the story of Little Red Riding Hood into a news story for ‘The Paper’. Say 200 words and then they give them to the teacher.

For use we shot using the Sony EX3, Sigma20mm, 50mm, and 75mm lens assisted with the Redrock lens adapter. Very nice raw images, but on a technical note can produce a little bit too much vignetting around the edge of the frames and you have to be pretty spot on with the focus pulling.

Also for the shoot we used for the first time some new equipment and editing plug ins. Some which have been on my shopping list of awhile now.
The Glide Track HD
Red Giant Software’s Magic Bullet Looks
and an additional Looks package Vintage Looks, which we used in this film. The scenes with the editor use ‘Color Pop’ Preset (but with some minor tweeks.)

Well i hope you all like it, and please leave comments and click the ‘like’ button on the Vimeo page.
Cheers all.

Ok so about two weeks ago now. I’m at the edit suite cutting up one of our latest jobs for a client. The phone rings.
“Hello, Studio 22 Jon speaking” Thinking it’ll be a wedding client.
The person on the other end, introduces themselves as someone from the BBC and if we would like to be involved in a 12 month news study.
“Yes” I reply.

So we are 1 of 50 Businesses (both public and private sector) from Coventry that the BBC are going to be following. Generally to see how we are getting on through this difficult year in a recession. The BBC team filmed all 50 people last Thursday in which I attended.

The piece was broadcast on Monday evening. An article is also online now at
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-12880221
for everyone to read and there is profiles of all 50 Coventry businesses or people that are going to be involved in the study: Private sector & Public Sector

We’ll report more on the blog about how we are getting involved soon, when it happens.
Well it’s been a busy November and December for us here and despite the snow myself and Richard have still been getting things done here.
Last week our Approachable Parenting promo was screen at a conference in Birmingham.
We confirmed some projects for the new year and filming (and having dinner) with celebs such as Ron Atkinson the famous football pundit and manager.
Most of all this video here is a little long over due but we’ve been working hard to make sure we got this right for the band. So here it is the Official promo video for the band Finish Him.

Video is to work with the release of the single of the same title and album which is now available on itunes. On another note the, the band where on Totalrock.com radio last week to promote the album and talk about being in the fore front of the alternative rock scene. I’m trying to get a copy of the interview to add to the blog. Apparently we get a mention on the show.
